Harvest moon

Tonight was not only the harvest moon, but it was also a lunar eclipse of a “super” moon. Rob and I used our little Nikon CoolPix camera to get the following shots. The red ones were during full eclipse and there were light clouds in front. We didn’t change the color on the camera and it photographed really red, although it didn’t look that way so much.

The second photo is the moon coming out of eclipse and the camera was having a hard time trying to decide whether it was focusing on the lit half or the dark half. In the final full moon photo the camera was able to focus on the whole thing with no cloud cover.

Great pictures… From my vantage point it never looked red and caught it when the moon was almost covered. Thanks for sharing.
