The Collection at RiverPark, Raw Inspiration to launch weekly Farmer’s Market, June 18
Another farmers market is opening at The Collection at RiverPark, will introduce a weekly Farmer’s Market launching Thursday, June 18. The new market will run every Thursday from 4-8 p.m. in Park View Court. In addition to selling freshly picked fruits and vegetables grown by a dozen local farmers, consumers will have the opportunity to shop prepared and prepackaged foods, flower vendors, and hand-crafted goods, while enjoying live music and face painting.
Of course, the question is will this kill the Thursday farmers market at Ventura’s Kimball Park? There are only so many farmers to go around, and many are stretched pretty thin, I’m told.
This is the third new market in the past couple of months — Pleasant Valley/Camarillo market reopened Wednesdays, and Port Hueneme has added a new Saturday farmers market at the beach. Are we reaching saturation in Ventura County?
Good luck to everyone. Personally, there should be more markets. But what about Santa Paula? Fillmore tried one, and it didn’t work out. Oak Park used to have an awesome market at Lindero and Kanan, but it moved, and then died. The Simi Valley Town Center has seen markets come and go and the Moorpark market is tiny. No word yet on whether the idea of a small farmers market at the Oxnard Historic Farm Park will be resurrected.
Would you like to see more farmers markets?
